Die-hard New York Knicks fan Ben Stiller is speaking his mind on why he thinks Mariska Hargitay is the "envy" of every Knicks fan.

During his latest appearance on an episode of the Roommates Show with Jalen Brunson & Josh Hart this Monday, Stiller, 59, jokingly said:

"I know Mariska, I know Mariska a lot. The love that Mariska Hargitay gets from you postgame is the envy of every other Knicks fan, Knicks celebrity fan. She gets a hug after a loss," Stiller told Knicks guard Jalen Brunson.

Brunson, 28, then recalled how he grew up watching Mariska Hargitay on Law & Order: SVU, whom he also shared a hug with at Madison Square Garden on April 11.

“I remember my dad always watching the show and it was like, you just hear the iconic [theme song] ‘don-don’ all the time in the house,” Brunson said, “… And so, always found myself watching the show and the older I got, the more I watched, the more I see now I’m like, ‘I’ve seen that episode,’ I’ve seen so many different episodes.”

Brunson recalls feeling star-struck the first time he met Mariska Hargitay

During the segment, Brunson recalled feeling dazed the first time he met Mariska Hargitay, who has been playing Olivia Benson on several Law & Order iterations since 1999.

“I’ve always loved the show, and I’ve never been like super, super starstruck. I saw her and I was like, ‘Oh, s–t,’ and then, the first time we met, it was awesome, we talked and everything,” he said.

Brunson, who serves as the current captain of the Knicks, reflected on how he rewatched the whole show when he first joined the NBA:

"I watched all the way through. It's like a pregame show for me. I watched it before I took my nap, whatever. That's when I was in Dallas [with the Mavericks]. Being in New York, I'm kind of on a time constraint, so I kind of have to get my nap in," he said.

As reported by People Magazine, Brunson also has the same respect for Ben Stiller. Last August, he recounted the first time he met the actor in an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE at Fanatics Fest in New York City.

"My first interaction was at a Knicks game and he was talking about just how much of a Knicks fan he was. And I was just like, in awe. That was it," Brunson said at the time.
