"She's still my best friend" - Dave Portnoy on why his ex-wife still has access to his bank account

eDave Portnoy, 48, during an interview with Shannon Sharpe on his Club Shay Shay podcast, clarified that his ex-wife Renee, still has access to his bank account. This isn't the first time, Dave, has mentioned his and Renee's shared finances. In December, 2024, during an interview with Sage Steele, Portnoy had mentioned that he shares a bank account with his ex-wife, despite splitting up in 2017.

During the podcast, Dave can be heard saying that the two are still friends, and he trusts her "implicitly,"

"I trust her implicitly. If she wanted to take it, she could. There's very few people that you meet where you can trust implicitly and, to be honest, she was there when we were living at the in-laws house, she was there when we couldn't afford a hamburger. She was there through the grind. (...) She's still my best friend."

Dave and Renee were married from 2008 to 2017. However, as per Dave, the couple haven't split legally. While speaking on The Sage Steele Show last year, Portnoy mentioned that the two are still "technically married right now" and they tried to get a divorce in Massachusetts, but it was denied.

Renee is an equestrian, entrepreneur, and social media influencer. She became the director of merchandising for SmartPak, a horse supplies company in 2011. She has a degree in international relations and businesses from Boston University.

Dave Portnoy has been public about his situation with ex-wife Renee. As per Portnoy's interviews, the two share a friendship, and did not have any "shade" towards each other after splitting.

In December, 2024, during an interview with Sage Steele, Dave mentioned,

"She currently has access to all my money. If she just wanted to be like I'm taking it and be gone, she could. But we've had that joint bank account forever. I trust her implicitly. She has full access for a long time."

Dave also revealed that Renee is "dating somebody" at the moment and that he wants her "to be happy." Dave Portnoy is also dating and in an April, 2025 episode of Drop A Pin podcast, seemingly confirmed that he's dating Camryn D'Aloia.

Dave was detailing a story about getting rescued by a coast guard in Nantucket, when he was with a "a girl I'm dating" whom he called, "Cam," hinting that the girl is his rumored girlfriend, Camryn D'Aloia, who he was spotted with at an NBA game last year.
