Tiffany Haddish is providing fresh clues on Girls Trip 2 and where the group can go next. She appeared at the PEOPLE and InStyle Drive-By F1 Party in Las Vegas, during which she addressed fan expectations. She also disclosed that the new film could be set in a location the gang does not frequent.
Tiffany Haddish indicated that she did not know where exactly it would be, but the cast would be taken somewhere surprising:
She said, “I don’t know exactly where we're going, but I know it's somewhere exotic and somewhere we don’t normally go, but we should go as much as possible.”
Tiffany Haddish also confirmed that they will start shooting soon.
The first Girls Trip was released in 2017 and starred four college friends as they went to New Orleans. The sequel has been a long time coming, and the cast and creators are providing even more updates on what lies ahead.

Tiffany Haddish continued:
Tiffany Haddish said, “That’s what I do know.” She also added that “We’re supposed to start shooting this summer.”
The Afrochella music festival of Ghana was previously confirmed to be included in the story by co-writer Tracy Oliver to Variety. The festival is associated with music and culture, and attracts a large number of international viewers.
Regina Hall told People magazine in 2023:

Why did the sequel take so long?

Hall also explained why it took years to bring Girls Trip 2 to life. She said everyone involved was busy, which made it hard to find a time to start production. When plans finally lined up, the COVID-19 pandemic caused another delay. She shared that the shutdown forced them to wait.
Hall explained that filming a story centered on travel and public events was not possible during that time.
She said, “You can’t have a film that interactive in the middle of a pandemic. It’s about being out and about.”
She added that the team had to adjust the production timeline.
Producer Will Packer also gave an update in early 2022.
On Good Morning America, he shared, “the Girls Trip 2 sequel, we are underway.”
He also said the timing felt right for a story about a group trip after the pandemic years. Fans have been looking forward to hearing more ever since.
