Sophie Turner reveals that she has 'never watched' Game of Thrones, jokes she learned s*x education during her time on the show

Sophie Turner was catapulted to major fame after starring as Sansa Stark in the immensely popular HBO original fantasy drama series Game of Thrones.

The Dark Phoenix star recently appeared on the Dish podcast hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett.

As reported by People Magazine, Sophie Turner appeared on the Dish podcast and confessed that she has "never watched Game of Thrones."

While the 29-year-old claimed that she learned several life lessons during her time on GOT, she also revealed a bunch of other things that surprised many.

During her conversation with Grimshaw and Hartnett on their podcast, she revealed that she has not yet seen Game of Thrones as she was hesitant to watch herself on screen. Turner auditioned for the role of Sansa Stark when she was just 12, and she eventually landed the role when she was 14.

Among the many lessons she learned during filming the show, Sophie Turner also learned a few things about s*x. She confessed that she received her s*x education lessons during the production. Turner, while mentioning the nude scenes in the show, said:

"I definitely got my s*x education from that show. More, more than enough."

The Joan actress, who was previously married to Joe Jonas from 2019 to 2023, finalized her divorce in 2024. She shares two daughters, Willa and Delphine, with Jonas.

After working for almost a decade on the George RR. Martin-backed show, which has developed a strong cult following over the years, she described her experience as "amazing".

During her time on the show, she learned how to make informed business decisions and also gained valuable insights into etiquette on set. Not to mention, Turner also confessed that she learned a lot about acting as well:

"Everything I learned from Game of Thrones — and a bit from my parents."

Turner also discussed Game of Thrones' incredible ensemble cast, which includes actors such as Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Gwendoline Christie, and others, from whom she learned a great deal, primarily about acting. Sophie said:

"I never had proper formal training, so I got to learn from the amazing actors around me, which I felt like I won a competition. But it was great. We all were a family. My character, I got to live with. So it felt like we kind of merged into one person by the end of it. But it was amazing."

Sophie Turner on playing the role of Sansa Stark again

In an October 2024 interview with Variety, Sophie Turner was asked whether she would play the character of Sansa Stark again, given the opportunity. To which she replied:

"Maybe. I mean, it would have to be the exact same cast and the exact same crew otherwise, I wouldn't go back, and that would just be Season 9. I don’t think we’re going to do a Season 9. "

While she claimed that she "loved playing Sansa," Sophie Turner further added:

"I do wonder often what would she be doing now. Where would she be five years later, what would she be doing?"
