Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is an upcoming film in the animated superhero genre.
Directed by Justin K. Thompson and Bob Persichetti, the film is the third entry in the Spider-Verse trilogy and a direct sequel to 2023's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Here is the official synopsis of the film as per Letterboxd:
"Miles Morales is now a fugitive on the run from every other Spider in the multiverse, and Gwen and his other friends might not be enough to help him."
The film was earlier supposed to be released by Sony Pictures Releasing on June 4, 2027. The date has now changed.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse gets a new release date
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has been pushed by three weeks. Earlier, the film was set to release on June 4, 2027, but now it will be released on June 25, 2027. According to Variety, the date was postponed, taking into account that all schools will be on summer break by the new release date.
Initially, the film was expected to release on March 29, 2024, but the date was pushed due to the 2023 Hollywood actor-writer strikes. It is finally ready and will be the first animated film of Sony to be released on IMAX and other large-format screens.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is written by Phil Lord, David Callaham, and Christopher Miller. It is produced by Lord, Miller, Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, and Jinko Gotoh. It will pick right from the ending of Across the Spider-Verse, with the protagonist trying to save his family. The film is expected to conclude the trilogy.

- Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy aka Spider-Woman

In an interview with Discussing Film, Justin K Thompson said,
"When it came to making Across the Spider-Verse, I got to step into the role of a director. There was so much that I learned making that first movie and I knew that we could go so much further. The most important thing is the fact that we had a very different story to tell. In this movie, Miles is 15 years old."
This means that Miles is more mature than before, and this will reflect in the storyline and his arc.
