Days after the release of the first look at Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Tom Holland has now stepped out on set in full gear, and fans are already hyped up. The set photos finally give us a crystal-clear look at his next-gen suit, complete with raised webbing, a sleek, slim-black spider logo, and bold classic red‑and‑blue hues that practically scream nostalgia. It’s basically a love letter to Maguire and Garfield’s versions, plus the usual vibe from Spider-Man: No Way Home, updated for the MCU’s next chapter.
Shared by fans, the photos showed Holland smiling and waving at fans as he readied up for his next venture as Peter Parker. In the first look for the film, Holland did the reveal with a cheeky “We ready?” look, smiling at the camera, before darting off into action, marking the official start of filming in Glasgow, which is currently doubling for New York City.
More details on Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings in as the next big chapter in the MCU’s ever-expanding web. The film marks Tom Holland’s fourth solo outing as Peter Parker, following the emotional whirlwind of No Way Home, and this time, he’s truly starting from scratch. The world doesn’t remember who he is, but Peter’s still out there, quietly keeping New York safe one rooftop at a time.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, who were also the brains behind the last two Spider-Man hits, Spider-Man: Brand New Day promises a more grounded, street-level story with some seriously exciting twists.
Many expected Jon Watts, who helmed the previous films, to return, but Feige confirmed that due to the director's schedule, the studio is replacing him. As Cinema Blend reported, the President spoke of Watts' unavailability and said,
"We love Jon. Jon did three of the best Spider-Man films ever for us. He's got lots of things going on now. So we'll probably be looking for somebody else, just because he's busy."
Alongside Holland, the film brings back Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned, while introducing Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas in mysterious new roles. The film will also star Punisher as Jon Bernthal’s return as Frank Castle adds a darker layer to the mix, though Kevin Feige says his vibe will be toned down to fit the PG-13 rating.
Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk is also back, likely to smash and science his way through some subplot, and Michael Mando finally re-emerges as Mac Gargan, better known as Scorpion. We also have Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock, who is expected to return, too, making the cast even more star-studded.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters July 31, 2026, as part of Marvel's Phase Six.
