Street Fighter: First look at Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes as Akuma and Guile in the live-action adaptation revealed

Street Fighter is an upcoming martial arts film helmed by Kitao Sakurai. It will be released by Paramount Pictures on October 16, 2026. Here's the official synopsis as per Letterboxd:

In 1993, estranged fighters Ryu and Ken Masters are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament, a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past.

The film also features several WWE wrestlers like Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. Let's explore their first looks.


First look at Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns from Street Fighter

The makers have recently released a teaser video of Street Fighter. Besides this, they have also unveiled the first looks of Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, who play Guile and Akuma, respectively.

In the first-look poster, Rhodes is seen with his distinctive hairstyle, a direct reference to the video game. The WWE wrestler has donned a green color tank top in the poster.

Meanwhile, Reigns is Akuma, and his first look shows him dressed in black. The poster also features him showing his sharp teeth and red-shot eyes.

Street Fighter is produced by Mary Parent under the banners of Capcom and Legendary Pictures. The film is the third live-action adaptation of Capcom's namesake video game. Besides Rhodes and Reigns, the film also stars:

In April 2023, Legendary Pictures bought the live-action and TV rights for the video game. Subsequently, the studio started developing a feature-length film. Before Kitao, Danny and Michael Philippou were attached to the project as directors.

Street Fighter is set in 1993 and focuses on fighters participating in the World Warrior Tournament. So far, there have been two live-action attempts that were released in 1994 and 2009.
