Professional stunt performer Devyn LaBella filed a lawsuit against actor Kevin Costner in Los Angeles Superior Court. She was cast as Ella Hunt's stunt double in Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 2.

She sued the 70-year-old actor and the 2024 film's production company, Territory Pictures, due to an "unscheduled r*pe scene," Us Weekly confirmed.

According to AP News, LaBella alleged that she was coerced into the scene without prior notice, consent, or following the required guidelines.

Recently, she has provided new evidence to the court regarding the filming of the movie and the publicized legal ordeal against Kevin Costner and Territory Pictures.

Devyn LaBella revealed texts for the lawsuit against Kevin Costner and the production company

Devyn submitted messages in the court filing, alleging this was a conversation between her and the movie's intimacy coordinator, Celeste. She claimed that they had the chat the next day after the unexpected r*pe scene.

As Us Weekly reported, she sent a message to the coordinator on May 3, conveying:

"I wanted to discuss yesterdays abomination when we both have a chance. Are you around today? I was put in a really wrong position and it’s really affected me."

She received a reply, stating:

"Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear this Devyn. Let’s talk through it."

On the same day, she also texted a long list of around 14 questions to Celeste, focusing on challenges she faced during shooting the film.

The screenshots revealed:

"1) why was there no intimacy Cordinator? 2) why was a stunt double doing this non start work- especially given the sensitivity of it? 3) why wasn't there any preparations going into the scene? 4) why wasn't there any preparations in the wardrobe department to prevent the Juliette double from being exposed? 5) why was sensitive and explicit action commanded when it wasn't in the script? "

In another screenshot of the alleged conversation, as shared by Us Weekly, LaBella also pointed out several critical questions such as:

"6) why did the rehearsal not have a beginning middle or end? 7) why wasn't it a closed set? 8) how did lining up a shot turn into a r*pe sequence? 9) why was a man from the camera department directing this non scripted action? 10) why was this being recorded like a formal rehearsal but not treated like a formal rehearsal? (People not quite, no calling of Action or Cut, open set) 11) why was I expected to speak up I wasn't comfortable when I no real opportunity to even be asked if I was ok with this? 12) who was directing the impromptu sensitive action? 13) How did we end up with an exposed stunt double simulating a r*pe scene with unscripted explicate action and no intimacy cordinator, preparations, or explanation on an open set?"

As per the outlet, Celeste later submitted an incident report mentioning the complaints and issues Devyn LaBella raised. According to the intimacy coordinator:

"apologies were made to Ella and Devyn by various parties involved."

It also stated:

"This was not a formal or uniform process. Ideally, apologies would be issued by [Costner], the 1st AD, and others involved to both Ella and Devyn. Ella [Hunt] requested that the intimacy coordinator be brought back to provide support the following week. Production obliged. Devyn requested that production pay for her flight home that weekend so she could receive support from family and friends. Production obliged."

Devyn recalled the shooting schedule of May 2 and added that Ella disagreed to film that specific shot after knowing that Roger Ivens would be "violently raking up her skirt."

Kevin Costner portrayed the role of the protagonist, Hayes Ellison, in Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 2.
