Sumac 2026 Australian tour: Ticket info, dates, venues, and more explored

Sumac, the trio of Aaron Turner, Nick Yacyshyn, and Brian Cook, have officially shared the announcement of their 2026 Australia and New Zealand tour. It will be their first time performing in the region.

The newly announced 2026 run arrives during a relatively busy period for the band. Sumac have recently released The Healer and The Film. The latter was a collaborative project with Moor Mother.

The group's trek calendar included a summer 2025 tour across the US Midwest and East Coast, a European and UK run with select collaborative shows. Now, the Australia and New Zealand dates have been scheduled for early 2026.

The band shared an official Instagram post to announce their latest album, The Film. It read:

"It is an honor and a pleasure to present “The Film”: a collaborative project between SUMAC and Moor Mother - an album, a soundtrack and live performances - happening now and into the future."

The post continued:

"We are exceptionally grateful to be participating in this with Moor Mother, it feels like the best possible moment for these words and these sounds, for getting together to create. The first pieces of the project we have to share are the song “Scene I”, and portions of the visuals that accompany the album. Thank you for listening - peace and love - let’s go…."

A description on the band's official website reads:

"SUMAC, the avant-garde metal trio celebrated for their intense sound, is launching an extensive Sumac Tour across the United States. This highly anticipated tour follows the release of their album The Healer and collaborative effort The Film with Moor Mother."

Speaking about their last live run, the band shared:

"Touring is my livelihood, so between SUMAC, Russian Circles, and the occasional other opportunity, I am on tour half the year. It all blurs together. There was the realization a few weeks ago that this was my first European tour with the band since June 2019 (though they did do a European tour with Joe Preston filling in for me in 2022), so it’s pretty wild to think it’s been six years since I’ve been back here with Nick and Aaron. But in 2019, we came here three times, so it all blurs together."
