Super Troopers 3 adds Hannah Simone & Iqbal Theba to its cast: Here’s everyone who has joined the comedy threequel so far

Super Troopers 3: Winter Soldiers is the upcoming third installment in the beloved comedy franchise. Directed by Jay Chandrasekhar and written by the Broken Lizard comedy troupe, the film is produced by Richard Perello under Broken Lizard Industries and Cataland Films. While anticipation is already building, the official release date has not yet been announced.

The film's cast has continued to expand with Jay Chandrasekhar and others playing the lead roles. Recently, two new names have also been added to the cast list. This includes Hannah Simone and Iqbal Theba. Let us find out more about this.


Super Troopers 3 to feature Hannah Simone and Iqbal Theba

According to a Deadline report, Hannah Simone and Iqbal Theba have joined the cast of Super Troopers 3. Simone is known for her work in the FX sitcom series New Girl, while Theba is a Pakistani actor who has appeared in Glee. The makers have not revealed the characters they will play.

Jay Chandrasekhar, who is the director, is also reprising the role of Senior Trooper Arcot Ramathorn aka Thorny in the third installment. Here's a list of its other cast members and the characters they are playing.

The franchise began with the first film, which was also penned by the comedy troupe Broken Lizard. The film was a critical success and earned $23.2 million at the box office. It was followed by Super Troopers 2 and chronicled the namesake group that is asked to help a border dispute between Canada and the US.

In 2022, Chandrasekhar gave an interview to Collider where he spoke about the trilogy. He said,

“We have written draft seven and so when we get to about draft twenty, we'll start the machine up. […] I mean, we wrote thirty-two drafts of ‘Super Troopers 1’, and we wrote thirty drafts of ‘Super Troopers 2’. It's just our process. […] We'll throw out entire plot lines and reorganize everything and bring back plot lines. And it's a process, but eventually, we get there.”

Fans of the franchise and the comedy troupe are reportedly excited about the forthcoming installment.
