Superman's digital release is binging fresh footage from the film, as a recently released deleted scene shows a lighthearted yet chaotic moment between Mr. Terrific and Krypto the Superdog. Digital releases often come with unseen footage from the film, and this one highlights an important moment with a Justice Gang member and Superman's beloved pet dog.
The scene shows Mr. Terrific trying to get Krypto to help him. Armed with dog treats, he tries to coax Krypto into assisting him. Both of them start jumping up and down together, and before you're fooled into believing Krypto will actually help Mr. Terrific out, the super-powered canine bites his foot as he screams.
This scene most likely precedes another scene from the film when we see Krypto helping Mr. Terrific fly. But for the first time, we get a glimpse into how that actually came to be, and the hefty price Mr. Terrific paid for a ride with Krypto.
The scene highlights Mr. Terrific's character, showing him in a lighthearted manner and his willingness to engage with unconventional methods and his sense of humor. It also gives fans a behind the scenes moment to have a look at the interactions between Justice Gang members and their superpowered companions.
More details about Superman
James Gunn's Superman kicks off DC's new cinematic era with David Corenswet stepping in as our favorite Krypton hero. Corenswet is joined by Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, forming a new Superman ensemble that many fans have hailed as being comic accurate and pretty iconic.
The film follows Superman as he tries to halt a brewing war between two fictional countries called Boravia and Jarhanpur, only to suffer his first major defeat at the hands of a mysterious metahuman known as The Hammer. Retreating to the Fortress of Solitude, he uncovered the damaged remains of a message from his Kryptonian parents, but it hints at a destiny far darker than the life he has chosen on Earth.
Apart from introducing the new Superman in the reboot, we also get a glimpse at Supergirl, played by Milly Alcock who will be headlining the 2026 film Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. All these projects are a part of DC's first chapter called Gods & Monsters, which consists of quite an exciting lineup that James Gunn is still working on.
The film was well received by fans and critics, who praised Gunn's direction and Corenswet's stint as Superman. It went on to earn $615.3 million worldwide, becoming the seventh highest grossing film of the year.
As of now, fans are looking forward to a sequel, Man of Tomorrow, that Gunn announced this month.
