Taylor Swift has been granted a protective restraining order against an ex-con stalker who claims that the singer is the mother of his child. According to documents obtained by TMZ, which were issued on June 9, the artist alleges that an ex-convict keeps showing up at her residence uninvited, stating that she is the mother of his child.
The 45-year-old man, Brian Jason Wagner, changed his driver's license address to Taylor's residence in Los Angeles. The restraining order, obtained by Page Six, was filed on June 6 and asserts that Wagner made several statements regarding living at Taylor's LA home, claiming he is,
“in a relationship with me..., believing I am the mother of his son...(and) needing to see me in person."
Taylor noted that Wagner's claims were "untrue and disconnected from reality." The singer was first approached by the 45-year-old outside her Los Angeles home in 2024, only for him to return several times in July 2024. According to the legal filing, the man was carrying a glass bottle on at least one occasion in July 2024, "that could have been used as a weapon." In May 2025, Wagner returned, claiming that he was there to check on a friend, which Swift asserted was false.
Taylor Swift's security team discovered that Wagner had a criminal history, including imprisonment. While incarcerated, he allegedly sent love letters to Swift, professing his infatuation with her and fabricating stories about their supposed romantic relationship. Swift stated that she has never communicated with Wagner and that she fears for her safety.
More about Taylor Swift's stalkers
Brian Jason Wagner is not the only alleged stalker against whom Taylor Swift has filed a restraining order. In March 2014, the singer was granted a restraining order against another man who threatened her and her family.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Carol Boas Goodson granted the artist a three-year protective order against a man named Timothy Sweet. Sweet has previously mentioned that he believes he is married to the singer. Taylor Swift noted that she fears for her safety both in public and at her home.
"Mr. Sweet's course of conduct, including threats to harm my family, are seriously alarming and harassing and are extremely distressing to me and my family."
In the court filing, one of the messages from Sweet stated, "Dearest Taylor, I'll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage."
