Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce reportedly focus on engagement bliss, not planning wedding yet

In a new exclusive with PEOPLE magazine, a source close to America's favorite couple, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, has revealed that the pair have no urgent plans of having a wedding yet and are solely focusing on their newly engaged bliss.

The source says about the couple, who announced their engagement earlier this week,

"Taylor and Travis have been in celebration mode ever since the engagement. They are not in the wedding planning phase yet."

They added, "Right now they just want to enjoy being engaged and they are going to take their time with it. It has been a relief not having to keep it a secret anymore, and they are glad it is out in the open."

After publicly dating for nearly two years, Taylor Swift and the NFL star announced their engagement news in a collaborative Instagram post on August 26 with the cute caption,

"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married"

The post featured a carousel of images where Kelce proposed in his own backyard, which had been transformed into a floral paradise. Though the post came out this week, according to Papa Kelce, Taylor Swift and Travis had been engaged for almost two weeks before that.

In a segment of Australian radio's The Jimmy & Nath Show with Emma, Ed Kelce made an appearance and revealed quite a few details about the proposal.

“They were going out to dinner and she was ready to go and he said, ‘Let’s go out in the garden on the patio and have a glass of wine before we go. I think she knew something was up because as they walked out there, she could see, suddenly, there were a lot more flowers out there," he said.

Ed added, "These are two young people madly in love with each other, and I think this is great.”

While the same source had earlier told PEOPLE that

“both families are overjoyed. There were toasts, happy tears, and everyone is thrilled for them.”

They also shared how Travis' mom, Donna, has also been so emotionally invested, as she has been keeping mementos.

“Donna is already saving little things from this time like photos, notes and flowers. She is very sentimental about it. She wants to remember every detail, so she has been holding onto mementoes from their first days as an engaged couple.”

Donna had also changed her Facebook banner to baby images of both Taylor Swift and Travis, showcasing her excitement over the union.
