Emma Raducanu is making headlines for halting her tennis match over a wailing child.

The British tennis player was trailing 4-3 in the middle of the Cincinnati Open on Monday, August 11. People Magazine has reported it was the third round on Day 5, and was held at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. In videos going viral, the 22-year-old can be seen in a bout against Aryna Sabalenka, a Belarusian player, when a crying infant breaks the silence.

Before she delivered her serve, she approached the umpire to point out that the child had been sobbing for "10 minutes." The latter asked her if she wanted the child ejected from the stadium, to which the crowd responded affirmatively. The umpire offered her to "call in" for the child to be removed. However, she raised her racket and proceeded with the match instead.

Fox News has reported that Raducanu bagged the next point, but Sabalenka won the match after she won the third-set tiebreak at 7-5.

Everything we know about Emma Raducanu's personal and professional lives as of late:

US Weekly has reported that Emma Raducanu has been making headlines in her personal life as well, mainly due to her alleged romance with fellow tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, who is from Spain. However, during a press conference on June 28, she clarified that the two are simply platonic friends.

The rumors came on the heels of the announcement that the two players would be partnering up for the impending U.S. Open's mixed doubles game. That same month, Emma Raducani told the BBC that partnering up was thought up by Alcaraz, who is currently World No. 2 in the men's competition.

"He asked me earlier on in the year and I was very surprised and honored and obviously excited," she said during the June 24 interview. "I just went through the formality of asking my coach. But of course I was going to say yes."

She then acknowledged the speculations online about a possible bond between them:

"I'm glad the internet is having fun and we're providing some entertainment for everyone," she said. "We go back a long way," Emma Raducanu added.

As for her game this season, Emma Raducanu is reportedly in the 39th position in the WTA rankings, which comes ahead of this year's U.S. Open in Queens, New York. The games kick off on August 18.
