Rachel Brosnahan talks about playing Lois Lane in Superman
In the forthcoming film Superman, Rachel Brosnahan is Lois Lane, who is a reporter and a colleague of Clark Kent. She recently spoke to S Magazine about the challenges she faced while playing Lane. She said:
"I’ve never felt like a worse actor in my life! We started hanging from wires, shooting with fake animals that weren’t actually there, and doing all sorts of other jazz that’ll get added in post. But it was great. You learn really quickly what you are and aren’t good at. If we do another one, I’m going to have to go to mime school and learn a thing or two about acting with invisible stuff — because that was a first for me."
The cast members of the film include,
- David Corenswet as Clark Kent aka Superman
- Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane
- Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor
- Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt aka Mister Terrific
- Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason aka Metamorpho
- Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner aka Green Lantern
- Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders aka Hawkgirl
Speaking to Collider, Brosnahan opened up about the film not being an origin story. She said,
"I also love that this is not an origin story. We’ve seen the origin story done so well a number of different times, but we come into a world that already exists — Lois and Clark are working at the Daily Planet, monsters exist in Metropolis, Lex Luthor has LuthorCorp. We drop in at this point in their relationship that I’ve never seen before.”
She added about Kent-Lane relationship:
“They’ve been together for about three months. And they’re asking some questions about the future of their relationship. They’re not sure if this is something that was just a really great fling or something that could be forever, and they have really opposite worldviews, and they bump up against each other that way. So, it was a really fun way into a familiar story.”
Superman is scheduled to be released on July 11, 2025.
