Just Go With It star Jennifer Aniston has recently opened up about her divorce from Brad Pitt, sharing some rare details. Aniston, 56, who was catapulted to fame after starring as Rachel Green in the classic sitcom Friends, shed light on the time after her marriage to the Fight Club actor Pitt in the cover story for the September 2025 issue of Vanity Fair.

It has been exactly 20 years since Jennifer Aniston's 2005 Vanity Fair interview, which was her first public appearance following her split from the F1 star. The article was titled The Unsinkable Jennifer Aniston. The Murder Mystery actress, who was married to Pitt from 2000 to 2005, first met Brad in 1994 through their managers. They began dating privately in 1998 and eventually got hitched in 2000.

Following their split, Pitt got married to Angelina Jolie, while Aniston tied the knot with Justin Theroux. Aniston, who is currently in a romantic relationship with Jim Curtis, an author and hypnotherapist, in her new Vanity Fair interview, recalled the 2005 interview and said:

“I haven’t looked at that article in forever. I just remember the experience of doing it - which was kind of jarring. It was also such a vulnerable time. But yeah, that was one for the memoirs."

According to People, in a video from her recent Vanity Fair interview, The Morning Show actress Jennifer Aniston shared that at the time, she was actually in the middle of her split from the Seven actor while she was shooting for Peyton Reed's romantic drama film The Break-Up, along with Vince Vaughn. Aniston said:

"I might've just gone through a separation - that little separation, I'm sure nobody remembers that. It was kind of cathartic to go right from that. So when they came to me ... they were a little nervous about making the offer, 'cause they thought, 'Oh, is that insensitive? Is it inappropriate?' But I actually thought, 'What a great opportunity.'"

She further explained and added:

"I knew it would actually kind of benefit me emotionally, just as a human being. And also serve the script and the character pretty well."

While opening up about the time following her divorce from the Inglourious Basterds actor, Jennifer Aniston, in the new Vanity Fair interview, shared that she had her own way of dealing with the situation. She used to tell herself:

"Just pick yourself up by the bootstraps and keep on walking, girl."

Aniston also said:

"It was such juicy reading for people. If they didn’t have their soap operas, they had their tabloids. It’s a shame that it had to happen, but it happened. And boy did I take it personally."

While mentioning the media speculation regarding their divorce, Jennifer said:

She "didn’t have a strong enough constitution to not get affected by" the rumors and attention.

She further added:

"We’re human beings, even though some people don’t want to believe we are. They think, 'You signed up for it, so you take it.' But we really didn’t sign up for that."
