In a recent episode of the Heal Squad podcast by Maria Menounas, television personality Hannah Brown spoke about her unexpected and rare health condition.
On Tuesday, May 6, Brown revealed that she was recently diagnosed with a double uterus, an extremely rare health condition. As per the Cleveland Clinic, the condition only affects about 0.3 per cent of people with uteruses.
Brown mentioned that the condition might impact her fertility whenever she and her fiancé try to have children.
"I have a double uterus. I haven’t done the exploratory surgery to find out exactly what’s going on.” Brown revealed during the podcast.
Brown, however, mentioned that right now she is not in a stage of life where she would like to have children. She further elaborated why she hasn't undergone the explanatory surgery for learning more about her condition.
“It looks like they're attached in some way. So it's just like a split.” Brown explained on the podcast.
Menuonos further asked Brown if becoming a mother was something that she had dreamed of. Brown replied that she goes back and forth when it comes to making this decision.
“I definitely think I would love to have a child, and I don’t want to miss out on that experience,” she said. “But I haven't been quite ready yet, which I think makes sense. I want to get married first. I want to be able to do that.”
She added-
“I've never been to just like, just waiting, waiting, waiting for that to happen. But I do think I'll I'm going to want to have that experience, when it's time.”
She further said that there are fertility issues that are possible with the few people that are having this condition.
“It definitely can complicate things, because can the size of the uterus hold a baby? Or is one better than the other? But there has been cases of people having double uterus’ and having babies and being perfectly fine.”
The Bachelorette star said that she had a lot going on in her life right now, which is why she has chosen to deal with one thing at a time. Brown mentioned that the doctor told her to freeze her eggs when she turns 30. To this, Brown said that she would get married and then focus on the same.
“I'm getting married this year. I will get right on that right after.” Brown said on the topic of freezing her eggs and looking after her health condition.
While the news came as a shock to the television actress, she was also relieved to learn about her health condition so that she could finally find a solution.
"It was definitely a shock,” said Brown on the podcast.“But to have the knowledge of ‘Hey, this is something that you're going to want to take care of when you're ready for that time' was helpful.”
