The Morgans returns in the recently released trailer for The Family Plan 2, the sequel to the critically panned 2023 Mark Wahlberg film. It also features Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colletti, Ciarán Hinds, and more in the story.
Apple TV has dropped the trailer, which shows the Morgan family embarking on a road trip as they face new threats. According to the synopsis on YouTube:
"Dan Morgan (Mark Wahlberg) is many things: a devoted husband, a loving father, a celebrated car salesman. He’s also a former assassin. And when his past catches up to his present, he’s forced to take his unsuspecting family (Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colletti and Van Crosby) on a road trip unlike any other."
Kit Harington has also joined the film's cast, which was confirmed in December 2024. He will be the main protagonist here. Though he was featured in the latest trailer, we still don't know the name of his character in The Family Plan 2.
Breakdown of The Family Plan 2 trailer

Dan and Jessica (Monaghan) are on a date while their children cause chaos at home. The youngest has thrown up and painted the couch pink.
Dan and Jessica's daughter Nina (Zoe Colletti) is in London, and in a later scene, the family gets to know that she is staying there for Christmas. However, Dan emphasizes that the Morgans always stick together, and hence, they begin their trip.
But a couple of surprises are awaiting them. First, as they arrive early, they find Nina's ripped boyfriend, Omar (Reda Elazouar), who jokingly calls Dan Daddy, much to his displeasure. Another surprise is Kit Harington, who appears to be targeting Dan, though the trailer doesn't reveal why.
Wahlberg's character describes Harington's character by explaining to his family that:
"He's a ghost from my past."
Harington's character already knows Dan, as he shows him a photo of Dan with his dad and a kid (which is apparently a younger version of Harington's character). He is after the business of Dan's father, McCaffrey, played by Ciarán Hinds, who was also the main antagonist in the first movie.
As of this writing, IMDb doesn't list Ciarán Hinds as a returning actor for The Family Plan 2. However, if it's McCaffrey's business Harington's character is after, we might see Hinds appearing in a cameo. This could set up the possibility of a family reunion.
The Family Plan 2 will be released on November 21, 2025, and will be available instantly for streaming.
