The Fantastic Four: First Steps premiere was nothing short of a cosmic event as Marvel’s First Family took over the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in L.A. in full retro-futuristic ’60s style. Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm, aka Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss‑Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, made their grand entrance on the blue carpet alongside director Matt Shakman and executive producer Kevin Feige

Supporting cast like Natasha Lyonne, Julia Garner, Paul Walter Hauser, Sarah Niles, and Ralph Ineson added major style points, with surprise guest Simu Liu, Arian Moayed, Dafne Keen, Yahya Abdul‑Mateen II, and even former Fantastic Four alumni Ioan Gruffudd, Doug Jones, and Rebecca Staab walking the carpet. Also present was H.E.R.B.I.E., the robot, making the red carpet event even more iconic.

For fans to witness the iconic event, Disney+ made sure to stream it for viewers as virtual attendance was in check for the first film premiere of Marvel's sixth phase. Apart from that, many dressed up as the four characters (as one fan is seen wearing The Thing's costume above), while skywriting featured a large 4 in the sky.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the MCU's comeback for Marvel's First Family, and with everything fans have seen so far, things look pretty fantastic. Pedro Pascal leads the pack as Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic, blending genius and emotional restraint of a man constantly calculating the weight of the world. Vanessa Kirby is playing Sue Storm, aka Invisible Woman, with Joseph Quinn bringing fire and flair as Johnny Storm, aka Human Torch, while Ebon Moss-Bachrach brings Ben Grimm, aka The Thing, to life.

But the emotional weight of the film comes from more than just their powers. Reed and Sue are new parents, and the tension between saving the world and raising a child makes their arc feel intimate amid all the spectacle.

On the threat side of things, Ralph Ineson is playing Galactus, a character fans are super excited to see in theaters. Julia Garner plays Silver Surfer, reinvented as a female character, Shalla-Bal.

Talking about the movie and how integral it is to the MCU, Marvel chief Kevin Feige said about it during a press conference:

“Why Fantastic Four? Because it’s Marvel’s First Family. It’s in the history of our characters; they deserve to be A-listers. They were A-listers in the comics. Every crossover movie we’ve made in the Infinity saga, Civil War, leading to Infinity War and Endgame, which is really the Infinity saga from the comics, the Fantastic Four were huge players in those comics and obviously we couldn’t do that then."

With just a few days to go before its release, The Fantastic Four: First Steps has received warm and welcoming reviews from early screenings, marking a stark revival for the studio and giving fans high hopes for the MCU's future.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be in theaters on July 25, 2025.
