The first clip from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Chrome Alone 2: Lost in New Jersey has just dropped, and we are already introduced to a premise that looks like a weird, wonderful holiday postcard from the sewer. In the clip, we can see Leo, Donnie, Mikey, and Raph reacting to a creepy toy company advertisement that has exploited their image, setting up a small mystery and plenty of visual gags.
Talking about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Chrome Alone 2: Lost in New Jersey and what it was like to work with the iconic characters, Seki tells Variety,
“I grew up loving both ‘Home Alone’ and the Ninja Turtles, and this project became a way to smash those influences together..Whenever you work with characters as iconic as the turtles, you have to give fans the personalities they love — Leonardo’s discipline, Michelangelo’s humor, Donatello’s tech obsession, Raphael’s temper — but then ask, ‘How do we surprise people?’ For me, the surprise came from the setting and the way we used the animation style to heighten those contrasts.”
The animation keeps the stylized look that we first saw in Mutant Mayhem, contrasting the abstract designs with surprisingly textured, hand-painted backgrounds. The film is directed by Kent Seki and attempts to honor the Ninja Turtles' history while launching them against an unfamiliar backdrop. Premiering at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 10, 2025, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Chrome Alone 2: Lost in New Jersey instantly caught attention for its mix of playful tone and grounded emotion.
