The Pickup post-credits scene drops a hint at a sequel
The Pickup features a post-credits scene where the squirrel monkey owner contacts Clark to tell him about his expensive shopping. This hints that Clark was also involved in the illegal goods being moved. The film begins with a scene where Russell and Travis are shocked to see the exotic animal, but they don't realize that their boss is connected to illegal activities.
It is possible that the duo might decide to teach him a lesson for his actions and behavior towards others. This scene hints at a potential sequel, which could show Clark getting into trouble with the authorities.
As per Cinema Daily US, Keke Palmer discussed working with Eddie Murphy in the film and the possibility of a sequel.
"I really do feel like working on The Pickup was like watching a masterclass of him continuously playing the truth. In every improvisation and joke, the situation was the comedy. He just always knew how to add to it in just the right way. So it was an honor, and I can’t wait to do it again."
Palmer's comment suggests another possibility of the team returning for a sequel in the future.
The Pickup is produced by Murphy, Tim Story, John Fox, John Davis, and Charisse Hewitt-Webster under the banners of Eddie Murphy Productions, The Story Company, Davis Entertainment, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Here is a list of its cast members:
