Charli xcx is switching gears from stage to screen as the Brat singer is officially taking her hyperpop universe to the big screen. Her upcoming A24 project The Moment has just dropped its full cast list, and it's a sweet collection of some of the biggest stars across different genres and platforms, coming together for a star studded adventure.
Directed by Aidan Zamiri, who co-wrote the screenplay with Bertie Brandes, the film is being produced by the pop star along with her also being involved in the cast. Joining her in The Moment are Kylie Jenner, Rachel Sennott, and Kate Berlant, who are being added to the cast that previously announced Alexander Skarsgård, Rosanna Arquette, Jamie Demetriou, Arielle Dombasle, Hailey Benton Gates, Trew Mullen, Mel Ottenberg, Richard Perez, Isaac Powell, Rish Shah, Tish Weinstock, Michael Workéyè, Shygirl and A.G. Cook.
The Moment is set up as a documentary that follows a pop star who is preparing for a headlining tour. The film promises an inside look at fame's glittery highs and existential lows and everything that comes with fame and glamor.
Production for the film kicked off in London in March 2025, with Zamiri and Brandes reportedly blending documentary style realism with music driven sequences. With a24 teasing a 2026 release, The Moment feels perfectly poised to dissect what pop stardom looks like in the social media age, manufactured intimacy, public meltdowns, and all. Between Kylie’s mega-watt presence, Sennott’s comedic bite, and Charli xcx’s musical edge, this film might just redefine what happens when the pop machine turns the camera inward. Keep your eyes open, this one’s going to dominate both playlists and premieres.
