Sydney Sweeney is speaking out about the romance rumors that have repeatedly linked her to Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell since they went on a promotional run for the film. Many assumed their on-screen chemistry was a result of something more than just acting, despite both actors denying those claims, and Sweeney clearly wants to set the record straight.

When speaking with Variety to promote her upcoming film Christy, the Euphoria actress shared her take on how the rumors started and gained momentum over time.

"There was no leaning in, per se. Truly the tabloids and journalists just created it and kept going. Even if we were just standing next to each other, it was ‘They’re standing two inches apart!’"

Sydney Sweeney went on to add,

"Glen and I genuinely care for each other and have a love and respect for one another. I love being with him. And I think people just truly saw a really beautiful pairing.”

Powell's ex, Gigi Paris, has been outspoken about believing there was something more behind the scenes between the pair, but it seems as though Sweeney and Powell refuse to give credence to her beliefs.

Sydney Sweeney's brand new look, more

Sydney Sweeney turned heads at the recent AFI screening of her film Christy at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Saturday, October 25. In a surprise move, she hit the red carpet in a stunning dress and a brand new bob. While the look is a drastic change for Sweeney, her hairstylists opened up about her transformation in an interview with Vogue. Colorist Jacob Schwartz mentioned,

"Sydney was looking for a change and wanted to have a big hair moment for the red carpet to support her new movie, Christy. It felt like the perfect time to do something bold."

Her hairstylist, Glen Coco, had the following thoughts about her bold new look,

"This is a transformation, Christy has a lot of underlying tones of resilience, transformation, and power. Sydney herself transformed herself for this role, and I wanted to morph her into this updated version of herself in real life. Something new and fresh to close out the rest of the year."

In other news, Sydney Sweeney was asked about the rumors that she is being considered for the next 'Bond girl.' She shared her thoughts on the matter during the same Variety interview.

“I can’t. [Seven-second pause.] I don’t know. [Ten-second pause.] To be honest, I don’t know all the Bond rumors, but I’ve always been a huge fan of the franchise, and I’m excited and curious to see what they do with it.”

She went on to say,

“Depends on the script. I think I’d have more fun as James Bond.”

Sydney Sweeney’s upcoming film, 'The Housemaid,' is set to be released in theaters on December 19, 2025.
