While speaking about selecting books for the episodes and her personal reading collection, she shared a sneak peek into everything that goes on behind the scenes when a book appears on screen.

Sarah said:

"We’re very thoughtful about Carrie’s books versus anything that I might read, but there is overlap, of course."

Sarah Jessica Parker disclosed the book Carrie Bradshaw would love to read

During her conversation about the show, books, and more, the actress commented on a book that her most beloved character would enjoy reading. Parker’s most iconic character, Carrie Bradshaw, would love The Best of Everything, she remarked.

In response to journalist Samantha’s question, “What do you think are some of Carrie’s favorite books?” Sarah Jessica Parker answered, quite excitedly:

"Oh my God! It’s a book called The Best of Everything."

She recommended the book to the host and further continued:

"We are remiss in that book did not play a part in our show. It doesn’t make any sense. Read that and you are gonna be like, what? It’s incredible."

Taking the journalist through the process of finding books to include in And Just Like That..., Parker elaborated and credited the people behind the process. She shared:

"Our property master is a woman named Jo, who's really fantastic. She understands to reach out to all the indie publishers well in advance of a shooting, and is looking for books that, by the time the show's on the air, will be published … so we get a really interesting collection of books, a lot of books that I wouldn't typically reach for."

Sarah Jessica Parker continued appreciating more members and further narrated:

"Cassette, our onset prop person, is incredible. She and her team keep the books everywhere we go. So, we'll be doing a street scene and I'll be like, 'You know what? I should have a book in my hands. What do you have?'"

Sarah Jessica Parker revealed some of her favourites

The Failure to Launch star reflected on her fondness for reading books and flipping through the pages of excellently written novels. While speaking about her onscreen character’s preferences, she also shared an insight into what she personally likes to read.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s mentions on this episode of One Nightstand with Bustle included The Bee Sting by Paul Murray, The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, These Days by Lucy Caldwell, Clear by Carys Davies, A Place for Us by Fatima Farheen Mirza, and An American Marriage by Tayari Jones.

The State and Main actress lauded Donna Tartt’s talent and remarked on the American author’s richly layered novels. Reflecting on Tartt’s works, she asserted:

"She’s young and potentially has three or four more books in her. She doesn't have to be here on social media. She doesn't have to do interviews."

According to a People Magazine report, she also shared how the author doesn’t have to attend her dinner party—“except in my fantasies.”
