A Miami private school founder has come under fire online after stating that she would like Sean “Diddy” Combs to address her students if he were released from his recent 50-month prison sentence. After Dr. Thea White, co-founder of Sprouting to Success School, made the comment, the internet has had a field day.

A user commented:

"There's always that one."

As reported by The Associated Press, Dr. Thea White, co-founder of Miami Gardens' Sprouting to Success School, wanted Diddy to speak to the students as she believes “everybody deserves a second chance.” She added that life isn’t about avoiding mistakes but learning from them:

“I believe that life isn’t just about never making mistakes — it’s more about what we do after we make those mistakes.”

Following the backlash she received, Dr. Thea White responded to the criticism on Instagram, stating that her comment about a "second chance" wasn't directed at any particular individual but rather at the school's philosophy, with the caption:

"Everybody talks about change — we’re teaching it. At Sprouting to Success, kids learn how to own their future: from business to financial freedom."

She emphasized accountability, development, and learning from failures, highlighting that Sprouting to Success is an acronym for Start Putting Responsibility On You Today.

White mentioned that the school emphasizes real-world lessons like entrepreneurship and giving back. She concluded:

"Let's shift the spotlight back to what matters most: Our students. Our mission. Our future."

White's comments come after Combs was found guilty of prostitution-related offenses involving his ex-girlfriends, Casandra Ventura and an unnamed woman known as "Jane," and was given a sentence of slightly over four years in jail.

Judge Arun Subramanian imposed the 50-month sentence, saying it was required "as a deterrent, and to send a message," according to BBC News.

Before the sentence was passed by Judge Arun Subramanian, Combs apologized to the court and also mentioned that his kids deserved better:

"My actions were disgusting, shameful, and sick. I got lost in excess, I got lost in my ego. I'm so sorry. They deserved better."

He added:

"I don't have nobody to blame but myself. I know that I've learned my lesson."
