"This doesn't feel real": Fellow competitors pay tributes as 'Big Brother' alum Mickey Lee dies at 35 shortly after hospitalization

Big Brother alum Mickey Lee dies at the age of 35 after being hospitalised. Lee, who was on season 27 of the show, suffered a cardiac arrest after complications from the flu and was reportedly in the ICU as of 22nd December. However, though Mickey Lee was in a critical yet stable condition, a post on her social media on 26th December announced her passing.

The post read, "With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening. Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike. She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen.”
The post continued, “The family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time. Your kindness has been felt and is sincerely appreciated. As the family mourns this tremendous loss, they respectfully request privacy during this critical time of bereavement. Details regarding memorial services and arrangements will be shared at a later date. Mickey’s light, legacy, and impact will never be forgotten.”

But Mickey Lee's co-contestants and competitors and previous celebrities associated with the show wanted to express how much she was loved as they shared their message of condolences.

Players like Rachel Reilly shared,

"We are beyond saddened by the news. Mickey, thank you for bringing your light to the world. You will be missed.”

While Season 25 star Mecole Hayes commented on her post,

“Mickey 💔 this is so devastating. We are incredibly sad for this unfortunate loss. Rest peacefully, beautiful 😔.”

Her co-contestant, Zach Cornell, commented,

“Mickey, thank you for being such an incredible friend and inspiration to me both in and out of the house. I’ll keep trying to shine your light through the A, and I know you’re looking down on us right now. ATL Baddie for life ❤️.”

Cast mate Clifton “Will” Williams captioned,

“This is absolutely horrible. Life is so short. Mickey was an incredible spirit and a joy in the house. Prayers to her family. The big brother family will miss her dearly.”
While Zae Frederich wrote, "Sending much love and strength to Mickey’s family. She made a real impact on everyone around her and she won’t be forgotten."

Who is Mickey Lee?

Prior to her passing, a GoFundMe page was established for her medical treatment. According to her family, her medical treatments had left a huge financial constraint on her family. As of today, the page has raised $31,747 of a $40,000 goal.

Mickey Lee, who is originally from Jacksonville, Florida, is an Atlanta-based TV personality and was part of season 27 of the show and placed 10th. The segment of the show ran from July to September this year, and Lee was voted out during the eighth week of the season. She was evicted on September 4, 2025, through a 6-1 vote.
