The internet is not taking kindly to Travis Kelce's photoshoot for the GQ cover.

The Kansas City Chiefs' tight end recently collaborated with celebrity megastylet Law Roach for the cover of GQ Magazine. Clad in some earthy overalls, a fluffy brown Etro hat, and what is reportedly Roach’s own light brown Hermès Birkin bag, he struck some poses for the camera in a midwestern swamp.

Photos of Travis Kelce have been doing the rounds online, and users have been reacting to them with quippy remarks. Here's how one user chimed in on X, for instance:

"Thought this was the Jan 6th shaman"

For context, the user was referring to Jacob Angeli Chansley, aka the “QAnon Shaman." He went viral back in 2021, when he styled a fur Viking horned headdress, some red, white, and blue facepaint, and launched an attack against President Trump during the Capitol riot. Photos of him went viral at the time, and he soon became the face of the movement.

Nonetheless, the comments didn't end there:

"Wait taylor girl i get it now.." one fan quipped.
"This is not the creative direction I expected," someone else remarked.
"He wants to be emo so bad," another opined.
"Okayyy, he’s giving us those Alaska wilderness vibes!!!" a fourth chimed in.

See how the rest of the microblogging platform is reacting:

"Me when i’m trynna give #trade," one user jested.
"What even tf is that?!" another questioned.
"Was this supposed to be s*xy??? Cs it is not," yet another chimed in.
"He's kinging," someone else online remarked.

Users were visibly divided, with a large number of them expressing confusion over the creative direction of Travis Kelce's photoshoot, helmed by Ryan McGinley.

Travis Kelce gushes over Taylor Swift and their romance

In his interview with GQ Magazine, Law Roach opened up about his inspiration behind styling Travis Kelce, to which he admitted thinking it would be tough. "Because he's huge!" the stylist, known for working closely with Zendaya. He said:

"We just started to build out the story of this really true Floridian dude’s dude, but with this undertone of fashion. We wanted to use the environment and create a world in the environments that are accessible in Florida, like the swamp. For me, it's always about storytelling."

In several photos, Travis Kelce, 35, can be seen sporting some yellow gloves as he holds a live alligator in the swamp. In another, he can be seen baring his chest for the camera as he wears white pants, a belt, some brown boots, and a leather jacket.

During his profile for the magazine, Kelce opened up about losing the Super Bowl this year and his high-profile romance with global popstar Taylor Swift:

“Whenever I’m with her, it feels like we’re just regular people,” he gushed. “When there is not a camera on us, we’re just two people that are in love. We are two fun-loving people who have the morals to appreciate everyone for who they are,” he explained. “We share all those values. It kind of just took the f–k off.”

As the NFL season intensifies later this month, fans will have to wait and watch what the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has in store for them.
