The asterisk in Thunderbolts* is finally giving fans its true meaning as the film now has a new title officially, with a new poster, showcasing the team's new avatar as they move forward with the MCU and wrap the curtains around Marvel's fifth phase.

Thunderbolts*, which starred some of Marvel's anti-heroes as they teamed up to fight Void (one of the MCU's most lethal villains), ended on a promising note as the audience was introduced to the MCU's newest superhero team- the New Avengers. After a long time, fans got their answers to the title's asterisk, as it gave the title a footnote that the name is only a temporary identity of the team and on 5th March, Marvel unveiled the new name for the team and a brand new poster as excitement surrounding their future in the MCU ensues.

The team is now being fashioned as *The New Avengers, and Marvel has released a video where the cast is revealing the new title as they tear off the old name from a poster. Fans who visit their theaters for the film's second week will get to see the new introductory title and poster.

The asterisk on the poster was a matter of discussion as many fans theorized what it could mean and how the new team would fit into the MCU. As revealed now, he asterisk in Thunderbolts' title was a deliberate narrative device, signaling that the team’s name was provisional. This was confirmed in a Super Bowl poster, where the asterisk led to the footnote: “*The Avengers are not available”. In the film, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine rebrands the group as The New Avengers, reflecting their new status within the MCU. This rebranding was planned from early development, with the asterisk serving as a subtle hint.
