Trinity Rodman's relationship with estranged dad Dennis Rodman explored amid Wimbledon controversy during Ben Shelton's match

American soccer player Trinity Rodman, has an estranged relationship with her dad, former Basketball small forward, Dennis Rodman. The athlete has, on several occassions, publicly mentioned that she does not have a relationship with her father.

Trinity went public with her relationship with tennis player Ben Shelton in March, and attended the Wimbledon tennis tournament to support her boyfriend. Post the match, Rodman took to her Instagram story to express frustration over the Wimbledon announcers bringing her dad up at the tournament.

On July 7, Trinity over Instagram stories said,

"For those who don't know, my name is TRINITY not Tiffany. Also, for Ben's matches, he has his family there as his support system, which includes his dad...my dads not even in MY life no need to bring him up during HIS matches when I don't even want him talked about during mine. It's his and his loved ones' moment. Thank you."

Dennis Rodman and Michelle Moyer have two kids together, Dennis "DJ" Rodman Jr., in 2001 and Trinity Rodman in 2002. The two tied the knot in 2003, and by 2004, Moyer filed for divorce, which was finalized in 2012.

In 2024, Trinity, while opening up about her dad's involvement in her life, said that he was absent, and wasn't paying child support.

"That was all the fight was ever about, in front of us atleast. It was just the money party and helping your children."

Rodman also mentioned that she only saw Dennis a few times a year, and when she did see him, it was her mother questioning her father,

"It was my mom being valid and 'What the f- are you doing? Help us and help your children."

In 2021, when Trinity Rodman was playing a playoff game for the Washington Spirit, Dennis was there in support. Dennis was also pictured hugging Trinity after the game, and Trinity allegedly accused him of ruining her moment, by taking the attention onto him,

"You took this happy moment for me, like you f**ked with my head again."

In 2024, when Dennis Rodman wrote a public apology on Instagram to his daughter about not being the dad she wanted him to be, and noting that he will "keep trying" even when she's not responding his calls, Trinity responded saying, "Wiping my hands with it. I'm done. Thank you." In December, 2024, during an interview with Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast, Trinity Rodman mentioned that her dad is an absentee father and an alcoholic, and said that Dennis "is not a dad" and he's a dad "by blood but nothing else."
