Jimmy Kimmel's official return to late-night television has become a significant moment in his career. After nearly a week of suspension from ABC, the late-night host stepped back onto the stage of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday night and delivered a nearly 30-minute opening monologue.

The broadcast drew one of the biggest TV audiences for his show in years and also broke his personal YouTube record. Within hours, the video shot past 14 million views and has since surpassed 26 million across YouTube and social media. This has become his most-viewed monologue ever. Fans reacted to this saying,

"Trump's fandom is crying right now😭"

Internet reactions to Jimmy Kimmel's comeback became his most-watched YouTube monologue

Pop Base took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to announce that,

"Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue last night has become his most-watched monologue ever on YouTube, in under 24 hours."

Netizens were notably quick to weigh in on the comment section of the X post as they penned their thoughts. Below are some of their remarks:

"trumps attempt to silence him did the complete opposite 😭 now more people are tuned in", stated an X user.
"What if we all came together like this for basic human necessities like access to clean water, food and housing lol", penned another.
"He had pitiful ratings before suspension & now that 2 major distributors have refused to air his program I expect in a week his ratings will be even lower. Will his contract be renewed next year? I think 🤔 not.", commented a third.

Others also chimed in:

"And Sinclair and nextstar are now saying they will never air his show. So good job Jimmy. Even less people will see you. 🤗", remarked a netizen.
"jimmy kimmel proves that in the us, you can make fun of political assassinations and go scot free. yet when you are conservative, you will be hated on frequently for just existing and be shot for speaking your views", opined another.
"No surprise, people were mad. Some were 'hate watching' to see if he would show any remorse or insight into how he's too privileged, too powerful, too rich and too connected to whine like he did. Fail. He never lost free speech. He just lost one platform. We will not be back.", shared a third.

Notably, the relatively strong numbers came despite a quarter of ABC's affiliates, particularly stations owned by Nexstar and Sinclair, refusing to air the episode. Their decision followed backlash to comments Jimmy Kimmel had made earlier in September about the assassination of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk. That controversy led to his suspension on September 17 after pressure from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and other important figures.

Kimmel used his return to address the controversy. He clarified his earlier remarks. He emphasized that he never intended to make light of Kirk's death.
