Victoria Monet confirms she has dated Stormzy, calls the UK rapper “a really special guy”

During a recent appereance on Baby, This is Kiki Palmer podcast, Victoria Monet confirmed that she has dated Stormzy, after she was asked about her relationship with the singer.

Monet was spotted kissing the artist in October 2024, right after she announced her split from ex-boyfriend John Gaines. When Keke recalled an incident of running to Stormzy at the Met Gala, and discussing how "amazing" Monet is,

"I was hanging out with him at the Met Gala and I said, 'You know my girl, Victora.' He's like, 'Yeah, you know, she's amazing."

To which Victoria Monet responded, saying,

"Yeah, you know he is a really special guy, I have so much respect for him and I got to learn more about him by dating him."

She then opened up about her relationship with Stormzy, saying,

"I fell deeply so deeply for him and we didn't even get together yet. The first time (the internet) saw us in that viral picture was the first time we were hanging out in his city so I was like, 'Oh my god, it's everywhere before we're even starting."

Palmer agreed with Monet, noting that the media must have been hard to "navigate." Neither of the stars addresses the snaps at the time. However, an eyewitness told The Sun at the time,

"Both Stormzy and Victoria looked absolutely smitten with each other. They kissed, and when he hugged her, he picked her up in the air. It seems like he is in a great place after his split from Maya."

Snaps of their kiss were released three months after Stormzy split from Love Island host Maya Jama, and Victoria split from her ex-boyfriend, John Gaines.

Victoria Monet, while speaking to Keke Palmer in her podcast, also opened up about her split from John Gaines, with whom she shares a 3-year-old daughter, Hazel.

In September 2024, Victoria Monet and Gaines announced their split in a joint statement on social media, where they mentioned that their actual split happened 10 months before the announcement date. While talking about co-parenting with Gaines, Monet said,

"I feel like I'm super blessed to have a partner who understands, also, that Hazel will eventually be able to see things, and he was able to compose himself, and so was I."

Stormzy and Maya had also issued a joint breakup statement in July 2024, where they noted that despite splitting, they are "still friends" and "will always be friends."
