Walt Disney World is planning a new Cars-themed park amid its ongoing venture to execute the "largest expansion" in its history.

As reported by People Magazine, this Tuesday, June 3, the Orlando, Florida park announced the latest developments at the Piston Peak National Park, as well as what to expect from the new theme park, in a Disney Parks Blog post:

"Cars from around the country are fueling up to be the wildest racer in the 'wheelderness,'" the post began. "Of course, we know that fans are curious to see how the exciting new backdrop for the big rally race will fit into the waters, landscapes, and storytelling at Magic Kingdom."

Everything we know about Walt Disney World's newest Cars-themed venture:

Walt Disney World announced in its Tuesday post that the new Piston Peak National Park will be the

"largest expansion in the history of Magic Kingdom," continuing "the sweeping storytelling tradition that has crossed Liberty Square and Frontierland since opening day."

The park touches on the history and themes of "the American frontier and the Rocky Mountains," which are sprawled across northern British Columbia down to New Mexico, and will feature

"an awe-inspiring wilderness filled with towering trees, snowcapped mountains, breathtaking waterfalls, roaring rivers and impressive geysers," according to Disney and ABC News.

Visitors will be privy to a "visitor lodge, Ranger HQ, trails, and more," all of which are inspired by the Cars universe and its "wheelderness." Fox News has reported that to help the new structures blend in with the surrounding landscape, Disney architects are resorting to what is known as "Parkitecture."

Per the outlet, this design approach was first developed by the National Park Service. It aims to amplify harmony between buildings and the natural environment.

Trees will reportedly serve as a natural barricade between the off-road rally area from Frontierland to Liberty Square. Geysers from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad located nearby will also contribute to the immersive experience, as they will be sprawled across the new trail system.

"Rugged mountains with dramatic peaks will be nestled along a calming waterway across from Grizzly Hall, and soaring geysers from the famed Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will stretch into the trails of our off-road rally," the description read.

Constructions are expected to kick off this summer, which means the Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat will all shut down from July 7, Walt Disney's website reveals.

Read a part of the post below:

"Since the early days of Magic Kingdom, adventurous guests have traveled across space and time as they pass from Liberty Square to Frontierland. At the heart of all these stories are heroic characters with a belief in themselves that helped forge a path to their dreams. To continue this journey in great American storytelling, Piston Peak National Park will be part of the largest expansion in the history of Magic Kingdom."

It goes on to note that the Disney Imagineers are

"also hard at work beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, bringing to life the first-ever land inspired by the Disney Villains with two major attractions, dining, and shopping all on an incredibly twisted grand scale."

Pixar Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter and Imagineer Michael Hundgen also issued a joint statement, per People Magazine, with the latter noting:

“Our primary goal is creating an emotional experience for our guests. For this Cars attraction, we need to invent a new type of ride vehicle. No one builds these in a factory because it has to do so much more than just carrying you from one place to another. We have to create a car that conveys a feeling when you ride in it."

He also revealed that they will be using a customized production vehicle equipped with sensors that will be taken for test drives on the dirt tracks to asses how the vehicle responds to different terrain. "This is where we turn that feeling we want into real-world engineering," he said.
