Was DDG seemingly detained and later released during a paintball tournament? What we know as arrest footage goes viral

DDG seemingly got arrested during a paintball match tournament in the desert.

In videos going viral, the rapper can be seen being led into a car by a cop with his arms behind his back, visibly restrained. Later videos show him being released, and according to a report by Complex, as per FearBuck on X, he was "detained after being swatted" at a paintball tournament.

The report on Complex also stated that one of the hosts of the tournament confirmed to the publication that DDG was free, and the tournament reached a conclusion after the authorities got involved.

Born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., the YouTuber has since gone on a livestream to clarify just what happened. He said that he "just got done smoking," noting that he was "high" and "fried" when he reportedly got detained.

"You gotta think what was going through my mental, bro. I literally just got done getting high. I was fried. So, I'm thinking to myself the whole time, 'Is this real? This gotta be a script.'There's no way. I gotta just be high, still in the car, in the backseat, and maybe I got laced or something and I'm dreaming'."

He recalled being emphatic when the cops asked him to raise his hands over his head, noting that he was ready to "unscrew" his hands and reach the sky. DDG remarked,

"Mind you, it's about 6 cars, and it's at least 3 officers hoppin out of, each. He in the tactical stance, in sync. Bruh I'm spooked."

As of this writing, further details about the same have yet to come out, and DDG has not given a clear explanation about this stint.

Just weeks ago, the rapper made headlines again when he opened up about his dating life. DDG is currently embroiled in legal struggles with The Little Mermaid actress Halle Bailey as they fight for custody of their son, Halo. The latter has also accused the father of her child of domestic abuse.

He has since been romantically linked to India Love, after videos of the latter grinding on the streamer went viral. He also reportedly bought a heart-shaped chain as a gift, which he showed off during a livestream. At the time, he referred to her as "his ball," raising queries about the nature of their bond.

However, the streamer has since iterated that the two are simply platonic.

"Nah, that's my friend. It's just me returning the favor."

He explained, noting that she was supportive of him in the last few weeks, and the gift was just a thank-you. When further probed about his love life, he said:

"I'm chilling," he said, later adding that he's "focused on the work".
