Keith Sweat was married to actress and reality TV star Lisa Wu from 1992 until 2002. The pair had two sons and remained on good terms after their separation, prioritizing co-parenting over conflict.
Lisa Wu continues to be the most prominent relationship in Sweat’s dating history, as noted by Who’s Dated Who. Since their divorce, the singer opted for a low-key approach to his personal life, with few public mentions of new relationships. Previously, Keith Sweat shared his opinion on keeping things private.
Keith Sweat shares candid thoughts on modern relationships at recent concert:

Keith Sweat took a moment during a recent concert to reflect on his views about modern relationships. The veteran performer didn’t hold back, expressing concern over what he perceived as a decline in traditional values among today’s single women. He remarked that women no longer “wash their men’s clothes or iron them” and summed up his feelings with :
“You gotta bring something to the table to get something from me.”
The audience was seemingly in agreement and responded with supportive energy. Sweat also made it known that he is currently single, though he noted this hasn’t always been the case.
Keith Sweat’s concert comments about women ignite debate across social media:
Keith Sweat’s remarks quickly stirred up reactions across X (formerly Twitter), where users seemed divided over his take on modern relationships. Some responded with humor, while others were clearly unimpressed.
Aliya J’mari wrote,
“And who will he wind up with? NOBODYYYYY,”
Mz. Cromartie chimed in with a light hearted take:
“Well Keith I do all but iron clothes… lmaooo I’ll throw it in the dryer real quick tho.”
But not everyone was laughing.
Hilaria Alexander said,
“Wow, what a loser,”
Another user, LilKimIsMyFavoriteArtist, offered a more reflective take:
“Maybe they don’t do or learn those things for him because they aren’t the ones for him.”
Shawn Edwards didn’t hold back, writing,
“This washed singer was born during World War II! He stopped making it last forever years ago. That’s why he mad!”
One user summed up their disappointment more bluntly:
“This is your only remaining fanbase and you mock them what a stupid man.”
Keith Sweat had turned personal experience into a love advice book:

Back in 2013, The Philadelphia Tribune reported that singer Keith Sweat had taken his talents from the recording booth to the written page, publishing a relationship guide titled Make It Last Forever: The Dos and Don'ts. The book focuses on helping couples navigate the ups and downs of love. For Sweat, the process of writing felt familiar, much like crafting a song.
“It still comes from within, in terms of all the music that I have written, especially because I have written all of the music I have done to this day. The majority of my songs I have talked about relationships — cheating on somebody, being with somebody, loving someone — so it comes naturally for me really,” he shared.
Sweat explained that the book served as a reflection of his own journey through relationships.
“That's why it's called ‘Make It Last Forever: The Dos and Don'ts’ — I've done the dos, and I definitely done the don’ts,” he admitted.
Though rooted in his personal experiences, Sweat made it clear that the book wasn’t written just for men or just for women.
“The book is for men, as well as women, it is not geared towards one specific sex. It's like men as well as women in a relationship sometimes have the tendency to talk at each other and not talk to each other. And that's on both ends.” he explained.
