As Selena Gomez just announced her marriage to Benny Blanco, a photo of Taylor Swift arriving at the wedding has gone viral, leading to people believing that she was present at Gomez and Blanco's wedding. The picture turns out to be rather old. Swift was a bridesmaid at her best friend, Abigail Anderson's, wedding in 2017.

Selena Gomez uploaded photos from her and Benny Blanco's wedding a few hours ago, and the whole of social media is going crazy. At the same time, a photo of Taylor Swift in a burgundy gown has gone viral, which has led to speculations that Taylor was at Gomez and Blanco's wedding. It was later revealed that the particular photo of Swift was from 2017, where she was the bridesmaid to her longtime best friend Abigail on her special day.

Swift, who was donning a burgundy bridesmaid gown, carried the back of the bride's gown as they entered Old Whaling Church for the wedding, which was held on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. The duo have been best friends since high school. Swift's friend Abigail was also mentioned in her 2008 song "Fifteen", which is from the album Fearless. The lyrics of Fifteen where Abigail is mentioned are provided below:

“You sit in class next to a redhead named Abigail/ And soon enough you’re best friends/ Laughing at the other girls/ Who think they’re so cool/ We’ll be out of here as soon as we can … And Abigail gave everything she had to a boy who changed his mind/ And we both cried.”

So when the photo of Swift went viral, people immediately thought it was from Gomez's wedding.

Although no photos of Swift attending Gomez's wedding have gone viral, she was in attendance. Taylor Swift was a part of Selena Gomez's star-studded guest list. In order to protect herself, Swift booked a private home close to the event, according to Page Six, rather than staying at the official host hotel with other guests.

“She will be renting a house near the wedding venue, which is a secret to the public. Her security team feels it’s better than a hotel.”

Selena has been busy both at the wedding venue and on social media. Before her "wedding post," she uploaded multiple photos from selfies with Blanco to photos of friends and of the bouquet as well.
