Margot Robbie recently gave the team of Architectural Digest a tour of her production company’s office. While she was giving fans a sneak peek into a space of her office where the assistants’ desks were located, Robbie pointed towards the chairs and shared,
“So the chairs are actually in the Barbie movie…we just had them reupholstered”
Revealing the reason behind choosing to keep the chairs after the end of shooting, Robbie, who played the lead in the Oscar-nominated film, Barbie, said,
“I mean, they were quite expensive, actually. I was like, ‘wait, what is going to happen to these chairs?’ And they are like classic Saarinen office chairs, so I was like, ‘can we please get those?’”

While giving Architectural Digest a tour of her office, Robbie also revealed that she is an avid reader. Robbie, while showing the part of the office that was designed at the beginning, shared,
“I wanted my office to feel light. I wanted a lot of comfortable places to sit since I end up doing so much reading…making this whole section one big couch was probably the first thing we designed”
About Margot Robbie’s production company
Margot Robbie co-founded the production company, LuckyChap Entertainment in 2014. LuckyChap Entertainment’s co-founders include Robbie’s husband, Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr.
The production company, which is headquartered in Los Angeles, California, has produced numerous critically acclaimed films and series over the last decade.
The company’s first production was the Craig Gillespie-directed sports drama, I, Tonya. The film was released in 2017, and starred Robbie in the lead role.
While Robbie received an Academy Award nomination for her portrayal of the lead character, Tonya, Allison Janney, who played the character of Tonya’s mother in the film, won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Describing her mission behind opening the production house, Robbie has shared on numerous occasions with the media that she desired to make films with women as central characters. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Robbie stated,
“I keep picking up scripts, and I never want to play the girl, I just want to play the guy.”
During her conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, she further emphasized the need to promote female storytellers, highlighting that an increase in the number of women behind the camera would lead to more films with women-sensitive themes that allow female actors to utilise their acting potential. She said,
“There are brilliant actresses who aren’t getting amazing roles. And beyond that, you look at the statistics of male versus female directors, male versus female writers, etc., and there’s so much to be done. You can’t just sit there and do nothing when you hear those stats.”
True to her words, Margot Robbie’s production company produced Promising Young Woman in 2020. The film, directed by British actress and filmmaker Emerald Fennell, dealt with the themes of female trauma and rage.
Promising Young Woman was praised for its nuanced take on the idea of revenge and retribution. The film won the best original screenplay award at the BAFTAS, presented by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. The film also won the Best Original Screenplay award at the 93rd Academy Awards held in 2021.
