John Slattery is mainly known for his role as Roger Sterling in Mad Men. He recently spoke about working alongside Colin Hanks and how their paths first crossed on the AMC drama. It happened two decades before their new film, Nuremberg.
Notably, John Slattery and Colin Hanks never shared screen time in Mad Men. In a recent interview with PEOPLE regarding the release of their new film Nuremberg, Slattery looked back at his Mad Men period and the reunion with Hanks for Nuremberg. The film was released in theaters on November 7, 2025. It features the pair in key roles.
Speaking about Colin Hanks, John Slattery shared:
"We did [meet] briefly back then. I did not have anything to do with him story-wise on the show, but we had met and chatted."
He also opened up about the new movie and its cast:
"It is a great story to be involved with and had great people to work with. [Vanderbilt] had the money to produce it with some size and some scale, which doesn't happen a lot. They don't make movies like this anymore at this price point. It was a great group of people."
He continued:
"We all got along well. Michael Shannon is a very funny guy. I have known Rami [Malek] for a while. We had a good time. It was grave during the day and it was heavy, but it was easy to let off steam after. I think we felt like the material was good and it was worth everybody's time. So we had a really good time."
