Austin Abrams, who played the role of James in the film, recently spoke about working with Josh Brolin and his role in the forthcoming Resident Evil project.
Weapons actor Austin Abrams spills the beans
Austin Abrams recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about his experience of shooting with Josh Brolin for Weapons. He said,
“It was just really cool to come into something else and already have this weird connection with [Brolin]. It almost feels like you’re entering a different dimension, and while you’ve had an experience with this person, it’s not the same person. So it’s strange, but it’s only helped things.”
He is also expected to star in Zach Cregger's upcoming Resident Evil film. When asked if him sticking around the film helped him land a role in Cregger's next, Abrams said:
"I have no idea, but I don’t think it hurt anything. If I did something else instead of Weapons, I certainly don’t think that would’ve helped me do something like Resident Evil."
He also spoke about having Pascal in his forthcoming survival thriller film Whalefall.
"It was just really cool to have worked with him before and then come into something else and already have this weird connection with him. It almost feels like you’re entering a different dimension, and while you’ve had an experience with this person, it’s not the same person. So it’s strange, but it’s only helped things. I really loved him on Weapons and talking with him about things. So I feel a really deep connection with him at this point."
Abrams plays the role of a homeless drug addict who also commits an act of burglary. The film has met with mostly positive critical response, with an around 95% Rotten Tomatoes score. Besides Abrams, it stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, and Alden Ehrenreich, among others.
