Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) has allegedly opened an investigation following domestic abuse claims against Masha Slamovich by a former partner, AKIRA. Allegations reportedly surfaced online on September 23 when AKIRA's friend (@deathsamuraiszn) took to their X, describing Masha Slamovich as abusive and attached a series of alleged interactions between Masha and AKIRA. The user appeared to respond to messages and noted that she is speaking on "behalf" of her "friend."
The user also attached a Dropbox link with screenshots of conversations and photos of AKIRA with nicks and scratches on multiple areas of his face and body. Journalist Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated took to his X channel and revealed that an "internal investigation" had allegedly been opened against the 2024 "Knockouts World Champion."
TNA opens investigation against Masha Slamovich following alleged evidence from AKIRA
Abuse claims against Masha Slamovich reportedly surfaced on the internet on Tuesday and have allegedly caused significant unrest. Amid allegations of domestic abuse and potential investigation, West Coast Pro took to their X channel on September 24 to reveal that Masha "will no longer be competing at How The West Was Won".
Official verification of the images shared by AKIRA's friend has not been completed as of the time of this press release. The Takedown reported that they secured a statement from a TNA representative about the situation. The spokesperson allegedly responded,
"We take any allegations like this very seriously, and have begun an internal investigation."
Meanwhile, AKIRA (real name, Alexander Atkisson) took to his X channel (@theakiraway) to reveal that many had messaged him about the allegations. He noted that he was "angry, depressive, and suicidal since the end of January" and it was only because of his friend who posted on X and others that he has been able to live. He added,
"I love wrestling. I love the life and people it brought into my life. Even her. But it’s not a drug for me. If this makes it impossible to hire me or anything, so be it. I’ll move on because wrestling isn’t everything to me and I’m thankful it showed me the world and the man I have to be for myself. I’m just looking for my happy ending."
While it is unclear when AKIRA and Masha (@mashaslamovich) started dating, the duo notably celebrated their second anniversary in November 2023. Masha Slamovich has reportedly not provided any official statements about the situation.
