Ant Anstead, the English television presenter and motor specialist, had a net worth of 5 million dollars by December 2024, according to Celebrity Net Worth. However, the car builder has recently made headlines as his company, Radford Motors, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy amid fraud allegations. Renée Zellweger’s boyfriend initially filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last year, after allegations were made against him. The allegations included that the company had taken deposits from customers, but failed to deliver the much-awaited vehicles they had paid for.

Radford Motors is facing a new phase in its financial downfall, as a court converted its bankruptcy filing from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7 on May 8, according to People. The reclassification could set the stage for asset liquidation, a move that typically indicates a company's inability to reorganize or continue operations, as per the United States Courts.

While it's not yet confirmed whether Radford is ending its business altogether, the implications of Chapter 7 suggest a significant downturn. The change comes just months after the company filed for Chapter 11 protection on October 22, 2024. That filing coincided with a series of accusations against founder Ant Anstead, including claims of fraud and misrepresentation.

On April 4, a complaint was filed against the company alleging it remained in its Costa Mesa, California headquarters after the lease had ended. The landlord is now seeking a court-approved eviction. According to People, the updated bankruptcy status will "grant relief" to Anstead's business amid the mounting allegations.

Legal troubles have been mounting for Radford co-founders Ant Anstead and Daniel Bednarski. On March 8, 2024, Pastor (Pat) Velasco filed a civil complaint in Orange County Superior Court, claiming he is owed $2 million. The allegations didn’t stop there. In the following months, co-owner Roger N. Behle Jr. submitted his own complaint, accusing Anstead and Bednarski of mismanaging the company’s finances.

The legal fallout became more public when Radford filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Within a week, the company responded to multiple lawsuits filed by clients who say they paid hefty deposits but never received their custom luxury vehicles. A representative for Radford told PEOPLE the company had secured court-approved financing, which

“will allow the [the company to] work towards completing vehicles in process” as it undergoes restructuring.

In April 2023, as Radford Motors prepared to unveil its docuseries, Radford Reborn. Ant Anstead described the venture to PEOPLE as a deeply personal and financially risky undertaking. Alongside co-owner and British racer Jenson Button, Ant Anstead set out to reestablish the Radford name in a highly competitive market.

"This is personally a huge risk for me," he told the magazine. "We have seven people, and we privately funded this. We are doing it. We're risking everything."

Acknowledging the challenges of going head-to-head with automotive giants, Ant Anstead added,

"I knew that we were taking on a monumentally difficult project in an industry that's really tough because we are up against some big brands with some big funding. We just had to collectively believe in what we were doing"
