Drama hit the Wicked: for Good premiere in Singapore when a man rushed at Ariana Grande, and her co-star Marissa Bode had some thoughts.

In a TikTok video she posted on Nov. 14, Friday, Bode — who portrays the character Nessarose Thropp in the film adaptation of the popular Broadway musical — chastised the person who ran towards Ariana Grande as the cast walked the red carpet. In her caption, she wrote:

"This is about the experiences of most women in Hollywood btw. Olivia Rodrigo really ate when she said, 'all the time, I'm grateful all the time' because that's some of yall are constantly expecting. WEIRDOS"

In the clip, Marissa Bode spewed a tirade against the carpet crasher, later identified as Johnson Wen, a niche social media personality known online as Pyjama Man.

"'But they're a fan.' Okay. Then they're a fan and a loser. 'Cause what we're not about to do is make a woman whose space was invaded."

Ariana Grande's Wicked co-star shared that she had spoken about this issue in the past, specifically the theme of "parasociality" that many fans expect from the celebrities they look up to.

"Mind you, I've talked about this in detail and further extent before on this page about parasociality, especially at things like concerts or just when someone in the public eye is at an event. Like people throwing s**t on stage, mid-performance. People yelling loudly out of turn at concerts during like a sad or slower song just for attention."

She went on:

"And this is what I mean I say social media brings out the worst in people. Oh, did you get your views? Did you get your likes? Guess what you also did. You made somebody feel incredibly unsafe. But just no remorse. That goes over your head. You're a bad person."

Marissa Bode continued, saying that nobody deserves to be treated in such a way and still expect kindness from them, knowing how the public would react to how these artists behave despite the disrespect.

"I don't think women, or really anybody, should be expected to move with grace or respond with kindness when they've been violated in that way. And to expect that makes you a weirdo also. 'Cause the things is, most of the women within the public eye do respond with kindness. Because they know what the result is going to be if they don't. It's gonna be dog-piling. It's gonna be people calling them rude."

Johnson Wen — the man who rushed at Ariana Grande — faces Singapore charges and S$2000 fine

On Thursday, at the Wicked: for Good premiere in Singapore, Johnson Wen jumped over a barricade and ran towards Ariana Grande. The security was able to seize Pyjama Man, while Ariana Grande's co-stars, particularly Cynthia Erivo, wrestled and shielded the singer-actress protectively from the online personality.

Then, on Friday, Johnson Wen was reportedly charged with being a public nuisance by a Singapore court and is facing a fine of up to S$2000 if found guilty.

This isn't the first time for the social media personality — who calls himself "Troll Most Hated" — to invade a concert or event. Back in June, Johnson Wen went up on stage during Katy Perry's concert in Sydney while she performed this year. He also disrupted The Chainsmokers' show last December.
