Country singer Zach Bryan’s NFL fandom runs deep. So much so, in fact, that the unabashed Philadelphia Eagles super fan has vowed to never play in Kansas City again, as it is home to the Eagles’ rivals, the Chiefs.
Zach Bryan doubled down on his stance during a fan interaction on X, which took place on August 8. He began by needling the Chiefs faithful, who were vying for their third consecutive Super Bowl win last year before ultimately falling short to his hometown squad. He wrote,
“Where are all the three peat people from last year:/”
The reactions to his tweet were certainly divisive and alienating to some of his fanbase, but the singer seemed fully undeterred from his stance. He also didn’t mince words when he reposted a fan’s tweet critiquing his clear bias and misstep with the following,
"Please understand I will never play in Kansas City.”
Zach Bryan’s tweet comes right in time for the start of NFL preseason and is just a few weeks away from when the regular season kicks off.
Zach Bryan continues his X tirade
Unfortunately, Bryan was unable to relent and the X interaction with his fans continued to devolve further into conflict. What’s interesting is that he was the one stoking the fire, as he tweeted,
“I’ll be about to finish my show and then get a taunting call if I play at that stadium.”
When the same user who denounced Bryan’s antics then dared the singer to show his mettle, Zach refused to back down. The fan taunted the musician with the following tweet,
“take us off your live album too”
a jab that refers to “Fifth of May - Live from Kansas City,” a song that appears on the live version of his 24 album. Zach Bryan responded with a simple,
“Done brother”
Although as of this report it is unclear whether any measures have been taken by the singer’s team, as the song is still available to stream on DSPs.
Zach Bryan’s ire for the Chiefs has landed him in hot water before. In 2024 he made headlines for an anti-Chiefs tweet that also took aim at Taylor Swift. He responded by temporarily deleting his account.
In a series of since-deleted tweets, Bryan wrote, “Eagles > Chiefs" before following up his sentiments with, “Kanye > Taylor.” While Bryan eventually issued an apology and claimed he was intoxicated at the time, his actions have shown something different.
