Jennie Garth is mourning the loss of her furry friend, Pearl.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 star, 53, took to her Instagram, which boasts 1.3 million followers, to lament her pet's demise in a heartfelt tribute on Sunday, May 18. Coupled with a photo of herself petting her pooch during a trip to the beach, she penned:
"It’s been a couple of months, I haven’t wanted to talk about it. She changed our lives." She added, “My Pearly girl will be with me forever in the softest place in my heart, where I cherish all the people who have left but whom I still feel everyday. Thank you life for allowing me to feel love so deeply.”
Jennie Garth's love for rescued animals explored as the podcaster mourns her furry friend of a decade:
Jennie Garth has been with her dog Pearl for over 10 years, though she also has other dogs. As reported by Entertainment Now, back in February 2024, she shared a selfie of herself and her furry friend, while the caption read:
“Doggie appreciation post! I love her so much I can’t even explain it.”
Per the outlet, in a video for the American Humane Society, Garth reflected on how she came to grow and love animals:
“I’ve loved and cared for rescue animals since I was a little girl growing up on a farm in Illinois,” she said. “My pets have been some of the most important members of my family.” Garth then told fans, “I urge you to consider fostering or adopting a shelter pet and to support the noble mission of American Humane. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of these loving creatures.”
Back in 2022, in honor of National Dog Day, Jennie Garth shared a carousel of images of her other furry pets, with the caption reading:
"More dogs in my photo albums than people 🤷🏼♀️ #nationaldogday."
According to Entertainment Weekly, she was named the official spokesperson of Remember Me Thursday, an animal welfare organization, in 2020.
That same year, Garth introduced another rescue dog to her pack, a chihuahua named Fauci.
“When the pandemic started, there were a lot of dogs that needed foster homes and I thought we were just going to be fostering him, but we all just fell in love with him. He just fits right in and he plays so well with the other dogs that we just decided to keep him,” Garth said.
Jennie Garth, a podcaster cum mom of three, said at the time,
“I’m just the person that’s always had a little dog on their lap. I don’t really go many places without my dogs. We plan our vacations and trips around the dogs. Our lives basically revolve around the dogs.”
People Magazine has reported that during the lethal Los Angeles fires in January, Garth took shelter with her former spouse, Peter Facinelli. The two were married from 2001 to 2012. She, alongside her husband, Dave Adams, and their three kids, Luca, Lola, and Fiona, was housed with Facinelli at the time.
At the time of writing, it remains unclear how Jennie Garth's beloved dog Pearl died.
