Candace Owens is throwing shade at Sabrina Carpenter's music.
In one of her latest podcast episodes, she can be seen reviewing a clip of the former Disney Channel child star singing before she declares about Sabrina,
"She's not for me."
Owens then mimics Sabrina Carpenter's voice, seemingly in a mocking manner, as she sings breathily.
"So she's not for me. I feel like I could do that, it's like talking a lot," Candace Owens says, adding: "Anyway, Sabrina Carpenter, no insult to her."
In the same episode of June 19, the podcaster-cum-conservative commentator claimed that Sabrina Carpenter has a s*xual brand about her, which is a right of passage for "Disney people" like Miley Cyrus and Christina Aguilera.
"They get all grown up and suddenly want to take their clothes off, and Sabrina is one of these individuals, despite being 26 years old. It's not like she's in her early 20s coming out of Disney, but she's 26, and she feels that she needs to crank up the controversy. Like, it's not enough to just be s*xually explicit," she said.
She then took shots at the cover of Sabrina Carpenter's latest album, Man's Best Friend, where she can be seen on her knees while a man towers over her, clutching a fistful of her hair.
"I am so bored with this," Candace Owens said of the controversy the image elicited online. "I actually think if she wanted to be controversial, she would have gotten married, had some kids on the cover of her album."
Carly Simon voices her view on Sabrina Carpenter's Man’s Best Friend album cover
Meanwhile, many feel there is a similarity between the album cover of Sabrina Carpenter's Man's Best Friend and that of Carly Simon's album, Playing Possum, which was released in 1975. In the picture of her album cover, Simon is clad in a black negligee and a pair of black boots. She has her eyes closed, and can be seen kneeling down.
Simon, however, is not offended by any comparison between the two cover images. According to Entertainment Now, she spoke to Rolling Stone about Carpenter's album cover, and said:
“It seems tame. There have been far flashier covers than hers.”
Simon added she couldn't understand why Carpenter was "getting such flak.”
Man's Best Friend is Sabrina Carpenter's seventh studio album. The upcoming album is scheduled to be released on August 29, 2025, through Island Records.
