Actress and comedian B Simone seems to have caught the limelight following her recent podcast interview, in which she mentioned that she had to shop from H&M due to her financial condition. On June 24, 2025, Charlamagne Tha God and Jess Hilarious sat down on the Breakfast Club podcast to discuss Simone’s comments.

Charlamagne said shopping at H&M is not as bad. Speaking about B Simone, Jess Hilarious noted how much her lifestyle had changed. She explained that Simone used to regularly shop at high-end stores like Balenciaga and Blendale.

Now, having to switch to more affordable places like Forever 21, City Transit, or H&M was a big adjustment for her, and that kind of shift wasn’t easy. Reflecting on her own lifestyle, she said:

“I wear all of it. Everything. If it's cute to me, whether it's expensive or cheap. If I have the means to do it, I will buy it. If I don't at the time, I will still go buy something it cheap and I will still look just as good if I put on something very expensive.”

Jess Hilarious mentioned that B Simone wanted people to understand her point of view. Charlamagne added his thoughts, saying he wasn’t sure who B Simone was trying to get sympathy from, especially since she was emotional about shopping at H&M, which many people enjoy.

Jess suggested she might be trying to connect with other celebrities. At one point, Charlamagne said:

“I don’t have any sympathy for her, none whatsoever. Just saying because I love H&M.”

B Simone said she became a nitpicker

Charlamagne questioned who B Simone was trying to get sympathy from and pointed out how surprising it was, considering that the people are the reason for their success.

He emphasized that if her audience couldn’t relate to her and felt like she was looking down on them, she could lose their support, especially as a stand-up comic. Jess Hilarious agreed, saying there shouldn’t be any disconnect between artists and their supporters, who work hard and pay for tickets, streams, and content.

On June 17, 2025, B Simone sat down with her best friend, Shekinah, on the Let’s Try This Again Podcast, where she said:

“I feel like there has been so much financial, just my finances like the budgeting. You see how I am, nitpicking every little thing. I have never been like that. We were in Bloomingdales yesterday. I am like, we have to go to H&M. Like and I have noticed it in me, now. Just nitpicking.”

B Simone went on:

“I just don’t have it like and because I have invested in this app, in this platform, I don’t have the liquid. I got the money. Not yet. It’s coming. I have it in assets. I have it in jewelry. I have it in, you know, but it’s like the liquid. I am used to seeing a certain amount in my account.”

Charlamagne Tha God added that sometimes sacrifices are needed for long-term goals, and if shopping at high-end stores wasn’t possible right now, then she needed to adjust rather than feel bad about shopping at places like H&M.
