Kansas City Chiefs President Mark Donovan revealed that he made a commitment to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce that he would never 'monetize' their relationship. During an appearance on the Up and Adams Show on December 1, Donovan was asked about Kansas City Chiefs' player, Travis Kelce's fiance, Taylor Swift. Donovan noted that he made a promise early on to the couple that the franchise would respect their relationship when they initially went public.

"Taylor's been amazing to us. It's been nothing but good. She is a phenomenon. She is just a special kind of person. I told Travis, 'Look we are going to treat you and your relationship with the same respect that we treat any other player or coach's relationship."

He went on to add,

"It's a relationship. We're not going to monetize it, we're not going to go out there and go crazy."

Donovan added that they decided to not broadcast Taylor Swift on the video boards at Arrowhead Stadium,

"For a couple of years, all those shots you see in the stadium. He scores a touchdown. He makes a catch. It goes to Taylor. Especially in the first year. We never showed Taylor on our big boards in our stadium, never. I t was respectful. We're not going to do that. We're not taking advantage of this relationship."

"We never played a Taylor Swift song," says Kansas City Chiefs president Mark Donovan

While Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship has been in the public eye ever since they began dating in the summer of 2023, Mark Donovan had made a promise to the couple to not monetize their relationship. Donovan also added that along with not broadcasting Taylor on the video boards, the stadium never played the pop star's songs.

"I joked with him early on in the first year. We never played a Taylor Swift song in the stadium when she's in the building. Travis, to his credit, is all about team and he's all about the guys and he's all about being part of a team and not being separate."

Donovan went on to add,

"And he said, 'That separates me...When we're playing a game. When we're in that stadium, it's about us. And I want it to be about us."

Taylor and Travis got engaged in August 2025. While the two have not tied the knot yet, sources suggest that the couple is planning for a 2026 wedding.
