Corey Holcomb is doubling down on his sentiments about Dave Chappelle.

Holcomb, a fellow comedian, acknowledged during the recent episode of his podcast, The Corey Holcomb 5150 Show, that while Chappelle's movies are in another atmosphere, and that he stands out in each one, his comedy remains dry.

He also claimed that the latter would never get into a fight with him over this, because he is "on a whole other atmosphere," as he recalled the backlash that ensued when he initially passed his remarks.

Holcomb made similar claims just earlier this year, when he took to the Los Angeles Laugh Factory to claim that Chappelle's comedy was "mild":

"The only person who said something was Faizon Love, about him being a little overrated," Holcomb said at the time. "Like I said, in movies, television, Dave Chappelle is elite, ELITE! But if you go watch Dave Chappelle do standup — it was an old man at the Improv just stood up while Dave Chappelle was on stage and he said, 'Dave, are, are you gone crack some jokes?' If I'm lying, I'm dying. DeRay [Davis] was down there... I know DeRay don't want no parts of this, you don't want to burn bridges with the mighty Dave Chappelle, I don't want to burn bridges with the mighty Dave Chappelle but, f**k that, my n**s too big!"

He also claimed at the time that if the 51-year-old comedian were to take to the stage, Holcomb would depart from the venue altogether:

"He's about to talk to the crowd, like the big homie. You know how the big homie be talking and nobody say nothing? [...] He been bombing for two hours up there, smoking a square, with a leotard on."

How Corey Holcomb feels about Dave Chappelle?

In his recent podcast segment, Corey Holcomb said of Dave Chappelle:

"Dave Chappelle not gon' say nothing about me," he began, adding, "cuz Dave Chappelle is on a whole 'nother atmosphere. He would bring himself down by going back and forth with me. But, I gave [Chappelle] all his flowers, I said he was a great actor. Everytime he's in a movie, he always stands out and whatever, but when he just be workin' out at the comedy clubs, it be kinda dry."

He went on:

"He's just standing up there for 2, 3 hours, and it just be like him talking, cuz he's Dave Chappelle and he got the crowd to do that." Adding that he club is not going to shoo a famous comedian off stage, Holcomb went on, "So I said something about that, and it kicked up a storm, but mainly with the little guys looking for clout."

Corey Holcomb once again pointed out that it's unlikely Dave Chappelle would confront him, and if he did, he would inform the latter that while he might be slightly regretful of what he said, he still respects him greatly.

Dave Chappelle is known for having co-created and starred in Chappelle's Show, a satirical comedy sketch series that ran from 2003 to 2006. Later that year, he was dubbed the "comic genius of America" by Esquire, and by 2013, Billboard said he was "the best" in his field. Back in 2017, he charted in the ninth position on Rolling Stone's 50 Best Stand-Up Comics of All Time list.

Corey Holcomb, on the other hand, is known for serving as the host of The Corey Holcomb 5150 Show, which airs every Tuesday on YouTube.
