D4vd's real name is David Anthony Burke.

Celeste Rivas Hernandez was identified as the 15-year-old girl whose body was found in the singer's impoundment earlier this month.

Rivas' mother told TMZ that her daughter had a boyfriend, whose name was David. According to the outlet, Rivas and Burke had the same tattoo, which read "Shhh..." on the right index finger.

According to reports by the Los Angeles Times and ABC 7, Police responded to a call at around 12:20 p.m. on September 8, after tow yard workers noticed:

"Foul odor coming from a vehicle at a tow yard."

Detectives launched a death investigation after finding possible human remains. The police also found a bag in the front truck of the impounded Tesla, which carried a head and a torso. As per ABC 7 Eyewitness News, the 2023 Tesla is registered in the name of streamer-turned singer David Anthony Burke or D4vd, in Hempstead, Texas.

The teenager was identified as 15-year-old Celese Rivas Hernandez, who was wearing a tube top with black leggings, a yellow bracelet, and metal stud earrings. As per NY Post, Hernandez's body was wrapped in plastic and was badly decomposed.

How has D4vd reacted to the incident?

As per NBC News, a spokesperson for D4vd said that the singer:

"has been informed about what's happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities."

D4vd gained recognition after breaking out on TikTok in 2022. He released his debut album, Withered, in April 2025.

A police statement about the body read:

"The decedent was found severely decomposed inside a vehicle. She appears to have been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period of time before being found."

Burke was reportedly on tour when the body was found, but later cancelled his Wednesday performance in Seattle, as per TMZ. A day after the body was found, Burke was dropped from Crocs and Hollister's brand campaigns. In a joint statement shared with Footwear News, the brands on September 9 noted:

"We are aware of this developing story. With respect to the current situation, we have removed campaign content featuring D4vd while the investigation continues."

The brand campaigns were initially released on September 3 and were part of Crocs and Hollister's collaboration. The singer was featured on the brand's Dream Drop collection.

Post the statement, images featuring the singer were no longer visible on the brand's websites, while the campaign and the collection are still available online.
