Dave Bautista isn't here for diva attitude. The wrestler-turned-actor says life is too short to share a set with bad vibes, and reveals that he now surrounds himself with co-stars who bring positivity to the job.
In his recent interview with Collider alongside J.J. Perry, who helmed his latest film Afterburn, Dave Bautista dished on how optimism makes a difference at work.
"I'm just at the age and at the point of my life where life's just too godd**n short. I want to work with people I just love and respect, because I love this business. I love filmmaking, and if people don't want to be there, I don't want to be there with them."

The 56-year-old actor went on to share how passionate he is in his craft, adding:
"I'm happy to be there. It's a love thing for me, and I'm passionate about it. I want to be there, and I want to make the most of it, so I don't want to hear people b***hing, complaining, moaning, and groaning about doing something that we're all fortunate enough to be doing and making."
Dave Bautista headlines the post-apocalyptic action movie Afterburn, released on Aug. 22 in select U.S. theaters. The film takes place ten years after a solar outburst exterminates technology.
Dave Bautista's character is a soldier-turned-treasure hunter named Jake, who is on a quest to find the renowned painting Mona Lisa.
He co-stars with Samuel L. Jackson, who stars as King August; Olga Kurylenko as Drea; Daniel Bernhardt as Gorynych; and Kristofer Hivju as Volkov.
Dave Bautista praises Director J.J. Perry: "A fun guy to work with"
Dave Bautista didn't skip on commending the Afterburn director, telling Collider that he has "never seen somebody with supportive cast and crew" than Perry.
"J.J. makes filmmaking fun. I think everybody would agree. You'll hear that story over and over. He’s just a fun guy to work with, and he's super supportive and positive and he's energetic and he knows when to drive people and he knows when to ease up. He has a good gauge for it."
J.J. Perry, before shifting to a directing career, worked as a stunt performer and coordinator. His directorial debut is the 2022 Netflix movie Day Shift, starring Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco. He also received directing credits in the 2023 film The Killer's Game, with Dave Bautista and Sofia Boutella as the lead stars.
Meanwhile, Bautista's comments about bad behavior in the workplace echoed his Guardians of the Galaxy co-star Chris Pratt's previous sentiments.
In October last year, the 46-year-old movie star sat on a panel at the New York Comic Con with his Electric State co-stars, and spoke that "bad attitude ruins everything for everyone."
"It sucks when people have a crappy attitude. So when you show up on set, there's no reason why you should... Like, 'Oh, are you having a hard time living your dream? Is that tough for you today?' Like, come on and pull your head out. Have fun."
