Hamish Steele, the creator of the Netflix show Dead End: Paranormal Park, is trending for allegedly making inflammatory comments about the late Charlie Kirk.
Hamish Steele, also known for Badly Drawn Animals and The Tall Tales of Urchin, is sopping flak for his post on X about Kirk. The latter was gunned down on September 10. That same day, he shared a screenshot of Keir Starmer's post mourning Kirk's demise. He added his own comment, which reads as follows:
"Why the fu** are you even commenting on this di**head? You sympathy for any of the families being slaughtered by your weapons but a random nazi gets shot and it's a public statement. You're such a fu**ing evil sh*t."

Hamish Steele's comments have since begun trending online, prompting a wave of backlash. Netizens are also rallying to have his show canceled, while some are dubbing him "evil."
The creator himself has since acknowledged the backlash in two posts on BlueSky:
"It is genuinely funny that Elon Musk has now seen a clip from Dead End. He's on the list with people I know for a fact have watched it along with Ben Shapiro and Eric Adams," he penned on September 30.
In another post, Hamish Steele added:
'My Instagram comments are now flooded with replies saying I AM CHARLIE KIRK and that I celebrated his death (which I never did) and all I can think of is Yvie Oddley shouting "WHAT HAS THAT GOT TO DO WITH ANYTHING?"' He added, "Oh no they're trying to get my show cancelled?? Using AI?"
He also reflected on how he has been dealing with the negativity online:
"I have mostly been very ok today and found it all quite funny, while really appreciating everyone who has reached out, but the extremely nasty weird homophonic and antisemitic emails have started rolling in and it is getting a little scary so I apologise if I take longer to respond to stuff."
Per his IMDB bio, the Glastonbury-born creator largely keeps his life out of the spotlight. However, he has several credits to his name. In 2023, he spoke with Geeks Out magazine about the origins of his show, revealing that it was adapted from his own webcomic series called DeadEndia.
Hamish Steele divulged that the inspiration for his characters came from his love for ghost stories and travel.
"I just loved stories and I wanted to tell stories - big, bold adventures! And comics are so marvellous, because you only need a paper and pencil and you're already there! With a paper and pencil you have actors, locations, costume departments, cinematographers, all the visual effects you could want", Hamish added by recalling his career."
